| 30 Sep 2005 | Lisa Latasha Herron | Well, my first impression is I'm not sure if I should hug it or ...... turn and run haphazardly into the hills. I do know that it must be a blood curdling screach that issues forth from its mouth being half cat/half owl. =) I think the most striking thing about this picture is it's eyes both innocent and angry at the same time rocking job there it adds flavor to the picture. Emma JC Nilsson replies: "Thank you for your comments. =) You hardly have to be afraid of this little fellow, he is probably just as scared of you as you are of him, and in size, he's smaller than a house cat. I don't think he's angry really, rather startled by something, but it sure is a terrifying scream that echoes through the forest at the captured moment. ^_^" | |

| 11 May 2006 | Obsessed | I really like this picture, especially the expression!!! Its soo adorable, but not the cartoony, big eyes adorable what did you use to make this picture? I like this style and, if u dont mind, would like to try it rock on little owl/cat thing!!!! Emma JC Nilsson replies: "I made this using three techniques. I have a special hard charcoal pencil that I love very much which I used for the sharp lines. Coal can get so smudgey, but not this pencil. I also used normal, soft coal staffs for the shades. For keeping the light parts light (another problem when dealing with coal), I used an eraser for coal. That gray stuff you put up posters with can be used almost just as well, cause the coal pigments stick to it. Thank you and good luck!" | |
