SciFi and Fantasy Art: Leaves

They don't look likes leaves...They don't look like anything-- actually, they kind of look like everything. My mom thought they were pomegranates (my mom's weird). Leaves, blood, cells...
Anyways, this is frame from a comic. The elf is sad because...well, it's been one of those days.
The context of the comic is a futuristic fantasy setting; there are elves -and- robots. If you can tell, this elf is kind of Asian-looking.

Hey, I really like this style! You've simplified everything down so much, but it's beautiful because of that.

Don't worry about the leaves lacking detail... if you'd put too much into then my eyes wouldn't be drawn to his face as much as they are. As is, it's brilliant. I really like his facial expression.
