SciFi and Fantasy Art: Creature of the black sea

I had been reading for exams the hole day and needed something else to do. I took piece of black paper and white pencil and here we can see the result.

I like beasts...

This is very cool! I like how the creature looks evil, but then everything from close to the ocean's floor looks pretty creepy. The jellyfish were a nice touch to the overall picture. Great job!

Ahhh! Kelpie! *runs to hide behind some seaweed*

Well that's what it looks like to me, a kelpie I mean.

Oooo, deliciously dark! I love this creature! I especially love it's earring. Nice touch. Makes it look kind of like a pirate-y. I wouldn't want to run across it while out for a late night swim...

:-) Elina Vähä-Mäkilä replies: "Let's hope it won't go up to the surface to hunt..."

Kaikessa yksinkertaisuudessaan todella vaikuttava teos. Hyvä idea ja hieno toteutus, musta tausta herättää tuon otuksen eloon. 2

Oh my! That is very scary...but beautiful all at the same time! He looks like a very angry, perhaps even evil, hippocampus. I love the white on dark. Congrats on the mod's choice! You definitely earned it!

Beautiful work. 2 I love blending creatures to create something new.

Inspiration is a very hard thing to come by for me and I've tried several times to pick up a pencil and paper and to just draw without the burden of wanting it to be perfect right then and there so Congratulations for being able to come up with something so wonderfully creative in such short a time. =)

:-) Elina Vähä-Mäkilä replies: "Thank you! It really happens time to time that a sketch or something else that was supposed to be just a doodle turns out as a good picture. Sometimes its nice (like in this case), but sometimes it bugs me...especially if I've just managed to ruin a bigger, proper work."

Fantastic part of sea-dwellers! The less-known side of shadow-depths... remarcable!

ooh pretty. Big teeth, big horns, evil eyes, and surrounded by jellyfish... BRILLIANT!

:-) Elina Vähä-Mäkilä replies: "Oh yeah...I love teeth and horns and other pointy stuff...and jellyfishes.... "

You like beasts? Really? I never would’ve believed it! ;-)

:-) Elina Vähä-Mäkilä replies: "Yeah, many people wouldn’t...especially when I definately haven’t wrapped my place with images of dragons and other creatures or drawn them on every free piece of paper I can find...."
