SciFi and Fantasy Art: Draining the Waterheart

This picture is named after the lates album of a wonferful Chilean band Mar de Grises. Their atmospheric music inspired me greatly while painting.
 

Once there was an old three who loved water. Drinking it from the ground kept its branches strong and leaves flourishing. But the tree wasn't happy with its share and it kept drinking more. The ground turned try around it, but it still kept drinking. Finally it drained all the life-giving water from the land, but despite having such great amount of drink its brances slowly died, its bark rot and finally it fell to the ground. The great desert around it kept its memory.


This is my first proper digital painting. I need to develop my still a bit, but I'm still relatively happy. I also came up with even more good reasons to love traditional media, since good old paper and paint dont crash or get bugged.
