Daniel Corrado Mattei replies: "Not sure what you’re talking about, but thanks for the compliment! The style is very unforgiving...shade too much and you dont have a picture anymore, just a blob of blackness, shade too little though and there isnt enough...dark....I don’t know. A lot of it just takes practice, and a lot of it is personal preference...I normally draw the picture in full detail and everything, then go back and cover up where I want shadow and stuff. Many a picture I have been sad to cover up some nice detail simply because a shadow should be there, but it’s a great technique to master, not that I have mastered it, but it is probably one of my favorite ways to draw!" | |
