SciFi and Fantasy Art: Unicorn

Not much description this time.
I just hope, the one to whom this picture is dedicated likes it.

Done with coloured pencils, watercolour and the paws of my roommate's cat *snarls*

Lovely. Both the unicorn and the water express a lot of movement, and it's a good example of making mixed media look harmonious (definitely not always easy). I also like the contrast of warm and cool colors.

:-) Romy N. Feddersen replies: "Thanks! I like cold, or cold and warm colours in contrast. You might have already noticed that I just started using colours. I do most things without thinking, so I didn't notice the contrast until the picture was finished."

Lovely colors. The pic has such a peaceful and serene feeling to it. You have done this angle very well, and I know it's a difficult one, especially with movement like this. Again, the colors are wonderful, and...I'm just in love with this piece.

:-) Romy N. Feddersen replies: "I love how most of you who commented on my picture mentioned an other thing about it ... 2 I'm very glad to hear your feeling about this one."

This is really cool and you nailed the perspective on the unicorn. I love the colors. Did you use a reference?

:-) Romy N. Feddersen replies: "Thank you! Well, I had a reference for the head and the back, because I wanted it to be an Arabian horse (I tend to draw Quarter Horses when I don't use a reference). It was a very small photo I once took, showing a horse a former friend of mine owned. I forgt to mention it in my description, since I changed most things. Sorry! But I'm very glad you like the colours!"

Beautiful. I love the colours and the water effects. Great work.

:-) Romy N. Feddersen replies: "Really? That's nice to hear, because I am really not used to draw or paint water. Most of my characters don't like water (except Ileja), but as I said, I dedicated this picture to someone, to be precise, to my boyfriend's character who loves both unicorns and water. It was difficult, but fun."

Wow! I love the soft rainbow of pastels in this, the graceful movement of the pose, the splashing that adds life and excitement, the way the tail just seems to spread and merge into water. Great work!

:-) Romy N. Feddersen replies: "Wow, you really took a closer look to my gallery, didn't you? Writing all these comments is very nice of you."
