SciFi and Fantasy Art: A Leaving Angel

Arcariel is about to leave - just one more glance and a little smile. He spreads his wings and calls his shadows, for he does not want to be seen. Maybe he will kill someone ere the morning comes, maybe he wants to dance with his beloved - who knows?

This started as a sketch in a philosophy lesson, but I decided to re-paint it digitally. During this process I changed almost everything except the lightsource. It took several weeks to finish this picture, since there wasn't much time left for painting (or writing, by the way), and Photoshop and Painter were quite new to me.

*First comment dance* The face is a bit strange, the drawing hesitating between the profile (for the nose and the mouth) and a 3/4 front view (for the second eye); but I love the smile and the feathers are well done. Good work.
