SciFi and Fantasy Art: Seamonster

One early morning at my summerplace, something came roaring out of the mist...

The photo is actually from my summerplace. The monster is a sock on my hand...

SOCK AHOY!
That is the scariest monster ever!
OK maybe not but it’s funny 12

:-) Per Johansson replies: "Thank You, Dave! I first tried to draw a monster, but then I thought this was more realistic..."

This really looks good, you can’t tell it’s only a small hand puppet, especially since it’s in-line with the post sticking out of the water. The misty air adds a lot to it too.

:-) Per Johansson replies: "Thanks, John! The hardest part was to make the ripples in the water look realistic, and I,m not totally satisfied with that part."

Cool!
Given the likely depth of the lake there, though, you could consider reducing the size of the monster a little. Also, I didn’t think about it until you mentioned it, but the posts reflections have no ripples. You therefore might want to give them some, or alternatively, gradually remove the ripples from the reflection as it gets further from the actual monster.

:-) Per Johansson replies: "Thanks for Your comment, "Alpinebob"! You are very observant! Hmm... The monster may lay flat on it’s stomach... Anyhow, You are quite right, There shouldn’t have been so much ripples near the monster. Then again, maybe it just surfaced and caused the ripples around it?"
