SciFi and Fantasy Art: Sunrise

went crazy on the Art Nouveau-curls, just love it X3

water, gouache, indian ink
time: don't know anymore XD 14 hours?

quality of this is kind of bad because it's made with a digital camera, didn't fit under the scanner -_-;;
It looks pretty greyish now while in reality it's much brighter

Didn't fit under the scanner? How big is the painting?

Wow... This is really intriguing. You captured comething so complex as the fierce, firey beauty with a sunrise with so few colours and I love the fact that the swirls and "rays" are not individually painted. They're interlocking each other and that is very inspirational, I have never seen that before. Crisp, contrasting and very colourful... Very beautiful, Evelien. Great work.Thank you for the comment and I'm glad you like it 1Thanks ^_^

The curls and swirls are really sinuous, must have been very difficult to show restraint and stop! The contrasting subtle background is a great foil to the crisp lines of the central figure. Excellent work - maXine 1Well you just have to know where to draw the line (sorry for the unintended pun). In some ways less can really be more, as in: don't get too carried away ;PI'm glad you like this work and thank you for the comment 2

This is too good to be a Mods choice!! as of late anything well done and interesting seems to get past over.Great picture,very well done!!!!I've kind of noticed that as well, and that's one of the mayor reasons why I've started to prefer DevArt above Elfwood. Let's just say that sometimes I don't fully agree with the Mod's choises.Thank you for the comment ^_^

Very Art-Nouveau. Gorgeous. I could see this being a Mo's Choice easily. I love the simplicity of the colours and subject combined with your intricate design. I don't comment a lot on EW, but I couldn't pass this up. 2 Keep it up.Thank you, it means a lot to me that you think this is worth of being a Mod's choise and that you woudl commetn on my work 18that's still my ultimate goal here on Elfwood, achiving a Mod's choise 10Anyway, I'm glad you like it 2
