| 15 Mar 2004 | Judit 'Original' Smits | *first comment tango on the roof* I really think this is a scary piece, just because there are butterflies in it....what the hell is going to happen to these precious creatures?I don't think anythign will happen to them personally.. I feel like they.. belong there.. they're a part of death.. or something like that... not sure | |
| 18 Mar 2004 | Marijke | Do you know the Thorgal comic series? (They are Belgian books actually, but since you're from the Netherlands...who knows). In those comics the souls of people become butterflies when they die...so there you have your link with the skull ... Beautiful picture btw!hehe.. never heard/read those.. O_oAnyway.. me likes the idea of the butterflies being souls ^_^ | |
| 3 May 2004 | jellypop | Noooo, butterflies are so pas'e, so common! This pic to me is like, death to boring everday stuff! Bring new dark meaning to dumb fluttery things and make them evil and weird and fun! Butterflys are...Mariah Carey and toilet roll adverts. This is way above sht like that. Sorry Marijke. I.. have no idea resally what you just said O_o XD | |
| 18 Aug 2004 | Jess | May I say why the butterflies are there? Hmmm...guess you hsve no choice anyway...sorry...anyway, this is why I think the butterflies are there.... Life represents Death, Death represents Life...you need life in order to have death, etc...the butterflies are life, and death, well is death...anyway keep up the good work Thanks, I like your explaination ^^ | |
| 27 Jan 2005 | Limbo <monogirl4life@yah...com> | Hey i think the butterflies are very seductive,if you ask me, maybe you could say that death is a sweet thing, i like it | |
| 28 Sep 2005 | Linzi | I think the butterflys mean after you die your free from a lot of things. Some days I feel if I dyed I would be more free from my hurt. I have days I am on top of the world other down. | |

| 25 May 2006 | Soulfire | Another possible explanation for the connection between Death and the butterflies in this picture is that Death is a bittersweet adversary. In one aspect you have the Taker, she (or he if you please) who takes those things that we find most precious, our closest friends and our loved ones from us before we are ready to let them go. In another, we have the Giver, she (or he if you please) who gives to those souls who have yet to be borne unto this world the opportunity by taking what has already found its peace in this world and delivering it to the next.
Just my two cents. Thank you for your imput on this ^_^ | |
