She's a prominent figure in Gaelic folklore, particulary of the Irish breed. Bean Sidhe, Banshee, Fae Woman... Her despondent wailing in the night bodes ill for any true Irishman, for a visit from this mournful spirit heralds a death in the family. If caught, the Bean Sidhe is obligated to reveal the name of the one marked for death. She sometimes is said to have the red of blood on her hands from washing the grave clothes of those whose death she forecasts.
