SciFi and Fantasy Art: Gloaming

The gloaming is a race of planetouched beings descended from parents from a union of  a prime material dweller and a being from the plain of shadows. They have dark furry wings, glowing skin, which they love to tatoo, and are natural adventurers and rampant individualists, usually straying as far as possible from the local alignment of the area they live in (which is usually the Underdark)  This was painted with acrylics on a 16 x 20 canvas.

Wow those wings are beautiful... (I have a weird thing with wings). I love the soft colors on this and the pose as well. Great job, this should have been Mods.

:-) Matthew W. Gonzales replies: "You really think so?"

I really like the wings! and you did great on that greenish colour on the skin. oh and the cave looks awsome too, always hard to make it look stony with acrylics but you really made it look...real ^^ *thumbs up*

:-) Matthew W. Gonzales replies: "well my way of working in acrylics is kinda strange, lolSometimes I use them like oils and sometimes like watercolours."

The glow effect you did on this piece is perfect. I feel like I am peering from deep inside the cave. What did the painting look like before you modified it digitally? It almost has a soft, yet eerie feel, I think it looks great!

:-) Matthew W. Gonzales replies: "I could post the image before it was edited... but do I really want to?"

Absolutely beautiful... the colors are wonderful and as I recal 'gloaming' means something else, as a name or a noun or something, and heck if I remember but that sure looks like a very 'gloaming'-ish atmosphere. Anyways I love her wings, they have an amazing amount of depth, especially with the style you did the picture in... ( I have no idea what I'm talking about)... the style, I mean, is almost simple, not very much detail, but it really, really fits, and everything seems so calm and the wings seem so feathery. The colors go very well together as well!

Wow, this is incredible. I love the light and dark value, which creates a really eerie, luminescent feel. My favorite part about this is the wings. They look so soft and textured, almost real! Great work.
