SciFi and Fantasy Art: Sister of Butterflies

Originally this young girl had no purpose other than a pretty MySpace background for my page, but eventually I gave into the draw and made a story for her. She's really just your typical kid, but finds herself outside watching the insects a lot. One day, after her father gives her an old locket shaped like a butterfly, she find that she can hear their tiny voices when they flit by. Thus, she discovers that she is one in a long line of people who speak to butterflies and birds. I think eventually she will learn to fly too, but that's only if I ever get around the finishing the story.

Done in Photoshop 7... one of my less meticulous pieces I admit.
