SciFi and Fantasy Art: MoonchildA sketch that mayt one day be redone in paint, this is loosely based on a sci-fo story that I am writing. It is a representation of the main character's love interest, who initially shows up from the far future in a dream rather like this image (except there's no moon pillars) and gives him the idea of useing stme cells to grow body parts or even whole new bodies for conciousnesses to inhabit if necessary. The cool bit is, he meets her again later in his own time era and falls madly in love with her, and they manage to refine stem-cell research until her ideas are possible and they live very nearly forever. The very peak of the whole story is that eventually she decides that the only way for her to touch the entire universe is to leave her body and die, allowing her conciousness to roam across the dimensions. She gives up on life, and her body does as well, rejecting stem cell limbs and organs which he tried to implant in her to keep her alive, and she dies. The big deal bit is he dies after she does, and joins her in her ascention. It's a rather epic sci-fi love story. Wee, all that for a likkle sketch! =] 0.7 pencil on sketchbook paper | |
