SciFi and Fantasy Art: Shadow Angel

This piece I drew during mid-terms, a time every college student knows is full of stress and depression. I needed to vent some of that stress and poof, this gothic beauty appears. It took me somewhere between 30 and 40 hours to do the wings alone. She wears a crown of thorns atop her head reminiscent of the one placed upon Jesus' brow the day he was crucified (and no, this has nothing to do with Mel Gibson's The Passion it just happens to have some similarities) I would like to pose a wuestion to all of my lovely fans (HA): Is she an angel or is there an angel behind her while she suffers (crown) on earth? Or maybe something more sinister... Medium: Pen and Ink
