SciFi and Fantasy Art: Gryphon Shawl

Sorry this was not up with the first gryphon image. My sister did not want her face shown so I blacked it out. This is the full shawl. The gryphon is made of fur which I hand-dyed to create the markings. The shawl is polar-fleece which I trimmed to make a feather-like edge. Its hard to see in this image but I also sewed a zig zag of black thread to imitate feathers. Enjoy! PS this piece is inspired by the wonderful creations of Alicia 'Gryphon Lady' Hamm!

Since this images was posted i added long strips of fur to the back in white and black which really pull it together. I am actually starting to put together proper patterns for all my fabric sculptures (not the felted ones unfortunately) so if you're still interested in him I'll let you know when I have the pattern working. At the moment the phoenix is almost done."
