SciFi and Fantasy Art: The Shadow Lord

Not to be confused with shadow lord Zaric who is one of my characters, Corvidians use the name shadow as a title in the Corvidian hierarchy. This is a picture refers to an important religious figure in Corvidian history, Raven, the founder of Ravenity, which is the one main religion on their planet. According to Raven belief, after Raven died, Great Brennos (the Corvidian God) took him and gave him the eternal responsibility of collecting the souls of all those that had been loyal to his teachings and take them to their reward in the Otherworld, but to consume the souls of all who did not. Thus he became known in Raven belief as a shadow like entity called the Shadow Lord, or Ceanvalis, which is a word that i put together from the words Ceannaire-which means leader and Valdis which is derived from Old Norse 'Valr' the dead. and 'dis' which refers to a deity; to create 'leader of the dead';  the Corvidian angel of death.

This picture is a cropped part of one my other pictures , except for the sky in the background, the cloud effect, and of course some final tweaking on the computer using paintshop pro, it is complety handrawn using pencil and felt tip pen.
