SciFi and Fantasy Art: Shadow cruiser

This is a photo which I took of an A2 size painting that I did of a Raven/Corvidian Shadow Cruiser which is from my story I'm writing. The largest and most powerful vessel in the Raven Shadow Fleet. From bow to stern it is 25 kilometres in length, and when fully extended its wingspan is almost as wide as its length. The smaller silver ship in the background is an Avaran galaxy cruiser, Cyaneus-fleeing for its life. Like Avaran ships, Ravens also use a semi organic, nanological technology which enables their ships to generate its own power and repair itself.  But as well as having sensor absorbing hull, Corvidian vessels have a very effective and virtually impregnable shielding system, called assmimilation shielding, which absorbs an attacking ship's weapon fire and utilizes it into their own systems for reuse immediately, thus preventing overloading.

media used: Acrylic paint pencil gel pens (for the fine details)

This looks really cool, reminds me of a John Berkey painting. There's a lot of action going on here, great job on the planet. I see we both like some of our ships to be ridiculously large, ha ha!

Very nice picture! The planet and stars in the background and the ship itself , with its interesting coloring, looks very good

11 Kimberly A. Taylor replies: "Thanks, glad you liked it, the only thing i don't like about it was how the photo came out, and i'm thinking of uploading another picture of it with my new camera which should come out better to show more detail."

Oh yes, this looks much better!

:-) Kimberly A. Taylor replies: "thanks, yes it came out a lot better, except that now you can see all the creases in the paper!"

A wonderful picture!
I really like it because of the colours you used and I just love the form of the cruiser.

:-) Kimberly A. Taylor replies: "thank you! i hope to take this ship one step further-as at this moment i am in the process of actually making a 3D model of this ship, hopefully this time it will be a success."
