SciFi and Fantasy Art: Alien Tripod model

This so far is certainly the tallest of my models, standing about 52 cm in height. So far has been the hardest to make, especially getting it to stand up on three legs was quite a challenge, finally after a couple of months from a rough sketch on paper to a 3D model it was completed. It is obviously inspired by the film version war of the worlds and I wanted to have a go at designing and making my own tripod.

25 Dec 2007	Aaron Weaver	Loading... Looks pretty good. Which war of the worlds movie? I have heard of 3. 1. The original, 1950s? 2. Hg wells war of the worlds 3. The one with Tom Cruise. Kimberly A. Taylor replies: "Thanks! Er, i would say the tripods in the one with tom cruise, well, the 'head' part anyway. But i also took my inspiration from Jeff Wayne's musical version of the war of the worlds, as a live stage performance was done of it. "
