SciFi and Fantasy Art: Lost Beauty

Pen & Ink, Watercolor, colored pencil. I did this as my first foray into fairy-tales, and I'm pretty happy with it...

It is very stunning, I especially love the border. For some odd reason, I seem to think of....Little Miss Muffet?

I was actually thinking of sleeping beauty when I started this... It didn't really come out much like that. Miss Muffet! Yes! That's it! I meant to do that.

This is wonderful! I too love the border effect (mental note to self to steal, er try out this on next picture...). I'm delighted to see someone tackling fairy tales so beautifully. I've been playing with the idea of illustrating several stories from mythos around the world, and this is so inspiring!

Fantastic! Looks like a bookplate. Very nice!

2 sleeping beauty, that's her! I was searching my brain desparately for the right character... had settled on Beauty from beauty & beast... lol. then read the comments. absolutely love it. (Cinderella is still my all-time fav fairy tale) I have really enjoyed all of your art-work; in fact, I should have logged off a while ago, but HAD to look at your stuff

I like the idea of framing the picture inside it self and you have done nice work otherwise too.

I love the colors you used and the detail...espically the spider webs.

this beautiful depiction of an archtypical fairy-tale protagonist is perfect. I love the frame of the trees and the spider webs to emphasize the face of the girl and the way the colors mix from light to dark really makes her shine against the backdrop, really conveying the themes of beauty lost in a dark wood. I love it!

This is very beautiful, only nitpick would be that I think the lines around her face and hair could be a bit sharper, but this may be due to the scanning I suspect 2

I am really fascinated by the cobwebs, they are excellent, how did you do them?
