SciFi and Fantasy Art: Lost Knight

This is the illustration for a German poem I have written some years ago.
It tells the story of a knight wandering across the land with only his horse by his side. And while the sun is sinking, the castle is still in flames. The defenders had lost the battle and the knight is the only survivor - all his followers are dead.

wow. I love the pencil work in this piece. The moon is really pretty as is the castle. The lighting is perfect (how'd you do that with a pencil?!) and the whole work is very neat. 2

I would love too read the poem. I know germen so pleas tell me were can I read it.

wow, fantastic detail! This must have taken you a while....

:-) Manuela P. Forst replies: "Oh yes! Especially the sky ans the haze at the cliff. It was hard work to make it that smooth. The details where no problems because they where not that boring to draw - O.K., drawing is never boring 1 !Thank you for the comment!"
