SciFi and Fantasy Art: Eris

This is Eris, the Greek goddess of turmoil. I usually don't do pictures that are meant to convey anything but peacefulness, but this one just popped into my brain one day. I was really bored so I had time to paint her better than I usually did (at the time. This is one of my older pictures). I like her hair. Usually my redheads look weird(to my utter shame!) so i was pleased with the way it turned out.

14"X17" watercolour on watercolour paper. Painted June 2006.

Wow!

Great picture! Wonderful colours!! I LOVE the hair. Red haired have always something mysterious, you will never know what they think... You worked with many details, I really like that. The pic becomes very interesting, and somehow the background fits really good with the hair.

Just go on with such great pictures!!

62 Sarah J Hartzell replies: "Thank you! I guess I forgot to mention that the background is really a collar to her cape. Oh well!"

Oh I love this one! The hair is indeed fantastic! She has a great facial expression as well. I have no talent for watercolor and it's obvious to me that you hogged up all the talent... so enjoy it 1 I'll enjoy looking at it!

62 Sarah J Hartzell replies: "I'm so glad you like her! And thanks for visiting. Come again, and I'll be looking for the new additions to your site too!"

It is very beautiful picture.
It looks very harmonic yet destructive.

Yes she does2
It looks like she´s at peace but that whenever she want to she can release hell itself (or in my case Muspelheim) upon those she dislikes2

62 Sarah J Hartzell replies: "Hmm...destructive. Interesting."

Ah, the glorious chaos. ^____^ I love her expression!

62 Sarah J Hartzell replies: "I’m planning to do her again. Then again, who plans to paint chaos? Thanks!"
