SciFi and Fantasy Art: The Lady of Shalott

"Who is this? And what is here?"
And in the lighted palace near
Died the sound of royal cheer;
And they crossed themselves for fear,
All the Knights at Camelot;
But Lancelot mused a little space
He said, "She has a lovely face;
God in his mercy lend her grace,
The Lady of Shalott."

This picture is based from the poem by Lord Alfred Tennyson. I actually was drawn to it by watching Anne of Green Gables recite the poem while pretending to die in a sinking boat. I was about 11 years old at the time, but that poem stuck with me. It's one of the few I actually like. I hope you like my interpretation of it. I plan to do more on this subject in the future.

14"x17" watercolor on 140lb. watercolor paper.

The end of that poem always made me laugh. XD After all that, he wishes her a blessing only because she’s pretty. >__<
Anyway, nice pic! I adore her hair. And it certainly seems simple enough on the surface, except...
