SciFi and Fantasy Art: Wind Elemental

This picture is probably one of my favorites for color combinations. I love her face probably more than any other fae I have ever done. She looks so peaceful and dreamy. Oddly enough, this was inspired by the wind elemental on     The Chronicles of Riddick.

10"x15" watercolor on 140lb. watercolor paper.

I loved that movie. ^____^ And her expression totally fits the elemental in it, too, though this one’s a fair amount younger. And more colorful. I love her wings and eyes, and yeah, the face is great!!

This is one of your best, I think. The face is wonderful, the wings and hair are very good as well. The left shoulder/arm is rather indistinct, but everything else is awesome.

62 Sarah J Hartzell replies: "This is one of my old ones, painted about 2 years ago. Her arm could use work, but if I find that I don’t like something in my old pictures, I just make a new one rather than try to fix the old. It tends to mess with the original idea too much. Also, it helps me to see how I’ve improved from that time."
