SciFi and Fantasy Art: Moon

Part of a school project. I did this seperatly to the rest of the picture (which was done with a combination of photoshop and Deep Paint) to be able to do more detail. This is very loosely based on somthing from "The Shattered Sphere" by Roge McBride Allen. In the book the Earth's moon contains a sleeping alien lifeform which, naturaly, the humans wake up. The monster in the story is described as "the Lunar Wheel", without any of the tentacles. Odly, everyone else seems to like it better than what I do.

This drawing is similar in texture and dimension to something my dog did all over the carpet last Wednesday.

17 Shelz Keast replies: "I'd be seriously concerend about that dog's health if I were you. What on Earth have you been feeding it?"

Moon's broke? Oh, no!
Na, just kiddin' ya. It's an adorable pic, I love it!

:-) Shelz Keast replies: "Thanks! Adorable? Never thought of that. Weird yes, adorable, no."

Cool picture! I like it a lot! It's very nice and kind of abstract... interesting. It also reminded me of the monster living inside the world in the "Order Of The Stick" comic! 14 Very funny! Egg moon... *shudder* Congrat's on the Mod's!

mmmm... most interesting... reminds me of waking up and peering into the mirror after a happy night with good friends, eating rich foods, drinking well-aged wines and then going, 'oh no! have to go to work' - an interesting piece.. a school project? amusing inspiration that I read in the description - maXine 1

:-) Shelz Keast replies: "Yup, this was done for school, along with about 6 other pictures. (wound up with 25/25, a nice surprise). We had a free choice for this project and my teacher suggested I do some illustrations for a book.(PS: how's your mandrake picture comming along? Mine was up loaded with this picture. Best of luck- S.)"

This is very, very good. The only thing I don'g like is the tentacle wrapped around the lower right fragment. It doesn't appear to connect to the rest of the...thing.

Keep doing this like this.

21 Shelz Keast replies: "Good spoting, I didn't notice it (or completly forgot about it). I just checked the picture and there are actually two odd tentacles, figures."

actually, this is a gr8 pic ;D. I love da abstaractness of it! wish i could draw like u!!!!

:-) Shelz Keast replies: "You must have liked it if you botherd to come back and comment a second time. I didn't intend for it to be abstract- I just needed to finish it in a hurry before the due date."

I might have to read that story.

:-) Shelz Keast replies: "You could have. The Earth's been captured by aliens, taken to an artificail system. Humans back in our solar system construct a wormhole where Pluto used to be. Humans splatter a wormhole creature to save the day."
