It is an interesting effect. The squares of paper have the look of windows into another world, through which a magnificent flying creature may be glimpsed. ^^
The good thing about the drawing being on separate bits of paper is that you could rearrange it any way you wished for even more interesting effects. Shelz Keast replies: "You make it sound so poetic. I think if it were to be rearanged it would look weird. It does add the option of adding a scene to the dragon though. Maybe a burning village will make its way onto the wall."
| 23 Feb 2008 | John R Farley Jr | Ooh, cool! It’s almost as if you drew it so a viewer’s eye could fill the rest of it in. Neat idea. Shelz Keast replies: "That was kinda the idea." | |
| 23 Feb 2008 | Thomas Berndhäuser | I have to agree - this is an interesting effect. How did you manage to get that one fit together as good as it does? Just like it was cut out of a bigger picture... beyond the normal, really! Shelz Keast replies: "I laid out all the bits of paper on the desk in the patern you see here. Drew one segement at a time (starting with the head). To link the segments I pretended to draw the lines connecting them in the air.
I’m not sure if this description is more confusing than helpful. It’s the best I could come up with."

| 19 Mar 2008 | Stephanie S. K. Marbach | cool idea - it looks very nice!!! it would have been cool to try that out in different surfaces... not only the wood. oooooooooh my goodness - i just read that haven’t cut it in pieces but actually DREW it that way... wow... chapeau, really!!! Shelz Keast replies: "Wood was the only surface available. It wouldn’t stick to the paint on the wall and the carpet’s boring." | |
| 31 Mar 2008 | Stephanie NIGHTSHADE Barker | wow... never seen someone do this before, really fun idea and well drawn Shelz Keast replies: "I was bored....and didn’t have any other paper." | |
| 15 May 2008 | Jannike Åkersten | Sooo cool! At first I thought it looked like ine of those puzzles where you have to slide around squares in a grid to form a picture so I thought it was a "broken puzzle" kind of theme to it, but it is aven cooler that you acctually drew it this way. Though it would look great as a puzzle Shelz Keast replies: "Oh thanks for the comment!" | |
