| 31 Mar 2008 | NIGHTSHADE @-“,----- | the detail is truely amazing Shelz Keast replies: "Oh thanks. It’s not actually that detailed, it’s just the same style repeated that makes it look detailed." | |
| 31 Mar 2008 | Yasmine Dufour Mayor *Veya Wolfheart* | Great idea ! You did a wonderful job with the detailing. I certainly wouldn’t want to meet this creature when it’s angry! Shelz Keast replies: "Yes, they’re quite scarry when enraged." | |
| 31 Mar 2008 | John R Farley Jr | Excellent work, I like the sort of old-world mechanical drawing look to it. Congratualtions on a Mod’s Choice. Shelz Keast replies: "I’ve always like those old style technical drawings. Love doing line work " | |
| 31 Mar 2008 | Anon. | That is sooo cool =) Good work and congratz on mods ^-^ | |
| 31 Mar 2008 | Desiree M, Cassidy | neat!!! I like it, the little imp on top is very cool =) | |
| 31 Mar 2008 | Nathanael Moon Bonham | Reminds me of James Christiensen’s work. Well done! Shelz Keast replies: "That name doesn’t ring any bells. If anything it’s going to be inspired by Keith Thompsons’ stuff; though it’s still my own style (if I even have one, I varry so much)." | |
| 1 Apr 2008 | Maxine "piXel" Cox | Nice one Shelz! I love the bio-mechnical/biological study feel of the piece - a field guide to the evil birds of Australia - and they are evil so and so’s.... took a chunk out of every single one of my pears, on the day I was going to harvest them. And there is also that annoying Australian habit of ’shortening’ - invariably I am refered to as "Max", I always have to remind -’een’ there is an -’een’ on the end of my name - maXine Shelz Keast replies: "Well the blasted birds took bites from all the five corners back at home (when we still had the tree). Flying foxes are also a pain- they love pawpaws. At least I don’t have to worry about people mucking about with my name too much." | |
| 11 Apr 2008 | Päivi "WhitePhoenix" Martiskainen | ****atoos are a part of parrot birds family (Psittaciformes) where belongs Parrots and Parrakeets (Psittacidae), ****atoos (Cacatuidae) and Lorys (Loriidae) Just for those who didn’t know...
Anyway, this pic is so cool, I love that mechanical-****atoo (I have two ****atiels, so I just have to like this). Those wing details are great, I think that it’s hard to do wings for mechanic birds. So well done! Shelz Keast replies: "Did no one pay attention to my warning about the bird’s name and censoring?
Co-kies and parrots are in seperate families in my mum’s Hadbook of the Birds of the World (a misnomer- there are multiple volumes, each a couple of kilos). I vaguely remeber something about the two families being merged, but decided not to mention that.
The mechanical wings were the most challanging part, design wise. Making the plates sit like feathers wilst having some variantion in pattern and form was interesting." | |
| 8 May 2008 | Tabitha General_Wyvern Ruf | ****atoo looks good in metal. Now, let’s get that thing in flight... Shelz Keast replies: "They aren’t predatory. I just can’t imagine it battling it out like is some anime. Not that it’s not an interesting idea." | |
