| 8 Dec 2003 | Mordecai richler | It's absoloutly brilliant! I love the "evil" look in thedragon's eyes and the fear that is shown in your person's stance. Good job! *gives thumbs up* Esther S. Brendel (Maiden name: Esther S. Wetzel) replies: "Thank you Mordecai. I'm a bit sad, that I didn't scan the picture I redrew of this one. It came out even better..." | |
| 9 Dec 2003 | Ruth 'Annoyed Rabbit' Caswell | you mentioned that the hill it's crouched on is supposed to be of sand. The reason that it doesn't look like sand is because it's round. Sand piles up in cones. All loose substances like sand and pebbles, etc, have a certain angle they will pile up to before they start sliding. I can't remember what sand's specific angle is, but you won't be able to get it into a round mound like that without lots of water. ^_^ elsewise, i just love the dragon's face. It looks inquisitive and protective to me... Esther S. Brendel (Maiden name: Esther S. Wetzel) replies: "Thanks for the tip! You're right! If I ever redo it again (and I might, since it would make a good illustration for my story) I'll consider that habit of sand." | |
| 1 Mar 2004 | Megs 'Gothic Tigress' Lune | Nothing like leaving home to go for a walk...then all of a sudden a huge dragon pops over the side of a hill...HELLO! This is really cute, I love the idea. Did you say the dragon needs to be bigger? For what reason? HE's HUGE! Anyways, I'll shut up now! ::Lifts can of pepsi up:: TO MANY MORE MODS CHOICES TO COME! Esther S. Brendel (Maiden name: Esther S. Wetzel) replies: "*lol* Thank you Megs! *Joins the toast* Well, about the size: It's just that the dragon I describe in my novel is way bigger than this one, so if I would still want this to be an illustration to the story the dragon was too small. Well, nothing that really bothers me anymore. There are already some new pictures with the correct dragon size in progress... " | |
| 24 Aug 2004 | Michelle 'Raven Lilly' Lowe | ohh - its brilliant - i love the way the human is covering - the dragon looks so inquisative! brilliant! Congratulations on your mods! Esther S. Brendel (Maiden name: Esther S. Wetzel) replies: "Thanks a lot! That look of the dragon is like he would look like in this szene of the story. At least one thing about him I drew right. ^.^" | |
| 24 Aug 2004 | Megolas 'Hex' Besser | Wow, I really like the shading effect you achieved here...it looks like pencil...can you tell me what kind?(hopeful smile?) I'm trying to do more pencil stuff these days...but I need a lot of work. Esther S. Brendel (Maiden name: Esther S. Wetzel) replies: "Hmm. I don't really remember what kind of pencils. I guess I used different ones. A softer one for the dark shading in the background and harder ones for the figures. But that's just a guess. " | |
| 22 Jan 2005 | Northern Girl | The dragon is asking: "What are y o u doing here?" If the human continues sneaking to the gem, the dragon will jump between them and say: "Back away. This is my property." With the voice of a young politic. Esther S. Brendel (Maiden name: Esther S. Wetzel) replies: "Hehe, could be ... could be ..." | |
| 12 Oct 2005 | Xander DIrven | I love the shading on this one. and the dragon is wonderful! heh he's already quite a big fellow to my standards. hmm maybe i should try to shade harder! thanks for the inspiration ^^ Esther S. Brendel (Maiden name: Esther S. Wetzel) replies: "Indeed shading is important. All that we see is a affected by the dance of light and shadow. A picture does well without colours, but it always lacks something without shadows. I have to practice shading more myself. Thank you for your comment and happy drawing! " | |
