SciFi and Fantasy Art: Tropical Songgryphons OR Save The Rain Forests - You Never Know What We Might Find!

September 2004 - Oil paint - 40cm x 50cm

I'm in love with this one! What fears I lived through during the colouring process! How I was scared to ruin it! (Because I 'ruined' a picture right before I did the last touch on this one.) But now I'm so happy how it turned out. It will be my 'pilot picture' in the exhibition in my hometown at the end of this month.

This motive is available at Ellen Million Graphics.

It's great, I love the colours and composition. Can't imagine how many hours must have gone into it! Whew! Just learned about the exhibition, when, where, can the mundane folks go there??? *g*

1 Esther S. Brendel (Maiden name: Esther S. Wetzel) replies: "*lol* Of course, everybody is very welcome to go there. It's called "Art in showcase windows" and it's for hobby artists of Idstein. The opening is friday, 24th september, 19h in the "Gerberhaus" in Idstein. Every participating artist will show one piece there. And all around in Idstein each artist will display more of his/her art in shop windows. Here's a link to the "offical" webpage about this exhibition: http://www.kulturring-idstein.de/bildende.asp I'd be very happy to see you there! 2"

I know this plant, I have one of these monstera-plants by myself *looks for tropical songgryphons in her monstera* *finds some spiders* Uh, well... we should definitely save the rainforest with such cute little fellows in there =) Wonderful colours!

:-) Esther S. Brendel (Maiden name: Esther S. Wetzel) replies: "*lol* Cuter than spiders at the very least ... ;-) Thank you very much! *wonders away, in love with her dad's digicam, which made this painting possible*"

Yes! i agree with you saving the rainforests, but I also think it would be even nicer to imagine those cutest of gryphons in my own flowerpots. would be so much closer...
it the jungle, though, they onnce could beet Christel schejas and my phoenibris. What a phoenibri is? you'll se with my next update.
however. Whatever I can update, nothing of it will be as good as your own art. you are a really great artist. it makes much fun to explore your gallery part after part! This is another favourite example to me!

:-) Esther S. Brendel (Maiden name: Esther S. Wetzel) replies: "Thanks a lot, Uta! O.o I'm really curious about those phoenibris. That sounds funny and cute! Don't forget to announce the update in the Elfwood-d list! 2"

Wow... I really love the idea... The birds are so cute ^^ and the coloring is really fantastic. What's the actual size of the image?

1 Esther S. Brendel (Maiden name: Esther S. Wetzel) replies: "Thank you, e.! 2 *points upwards to the description*"

Wow Esther, you really are getting better! this is really amazing! The detail is great and the plants look very real! And YAY, more songgriffons. *Pats one of the little buggers* Great work!

3 Esther S. Brendel (Maiden name: Esther S. Wetzel) replies: "Thank you a lot, Meike! Both of us are digging their way through the high arts pretty well, aren't we? ^.^"

It's "Tropical Songgryphons OR Save The Rain Forests - You
Never Know What We Might Find! OR Elementals Of Cuteness".
Too bad my brother's monstera isn't big enough for them,
but it has some nasty tiny bugs that eat it, so it has
only four leaves but it should have thirteen! Grrr!

:-) Esther S. Brendel (Maiden name: Esther S. Wetzel) replies: "*lol* These songgryphons would sell perfectly as Monstera protection against bugs, wouldn't they? Ah, you've got to love these plants. Too bad my room is too dark to grow one. "
