SciFi and Fantasy Art: Sunset

Before 1998 - Soft chalk on black paper - 42cm x 30cm

No. Not a dragon this time. ;-) More a kind of a huge mighty demon. It should be darker. My 'demon of the apocalypse' looks almost like a nice doggy!

Doesn't look like a 'nice little doggie" too me... I really like that glowing affect. The color choice was really good on this one!

2 Esther S. Brendel (Maiden name: Esther S. Wetzel) replies: "Maybe I should upload the manipulated version. Someone saw this picture and asked me if she could play around with it in Photoshop. What she did with the contrast and the colours looks really good... *thinks about it*"

:-) Esther S. Brendel (Maiden name: Esther S. Wetzel) replies: "NP. ^.^
How do you feel though about pictures of other religion's or mythology's gods? And what about the old egyptian pictures of Seth then? He is depicted in many pictures isn't he? (Not that this one was intended to show Seth, just general curiosity.)"

Wow, I love it. Especially the setting sun/moon

:-) Esther S. Brendel (Maiden name: Esther S. Wetzel) replies: "Haha! I bet you like this! I guess you are as much a sun/moon - fan as I am. 2 "

Wow. Pro again. You must know something I don't. Congrats.

2 Esther S. Brendel (Maiden name: Esther S. Wetzel) replies: "Thank you very much! I'm not shure if I would call it knowledge. It's probably just practice since I can think back. And I don't feel I'm at the top of it at all. *shugs* More practice ..."

Feel the power. This picture reminds me of several unusual dreams I've had, reffering to light, shadow, and use of colour.

:-) Esther S. Brendel (Maiden name: Esther S. Wetzel) replies: "Wow! That must have been pretty cool dreams! "

Oh my god, the lighting is perfect and his position compared to the sun is amazing!!!

"And so the demon from far underground emerged from years and years of unused sleep, and prepared to take the sun into its haunted abode, to keep for the rest of time, until it finally burns out, and is nothing but a worthless ball of blackened rock that can serve no purpose in the sceame of life."

Sorry, I always do that, I can't help it!!
What can I say, now you have a story to go with the picture!!!

:-) Esther S. Brendel (Maiden name: Esther S. Wetzel) replies: "Hehe, an not a bad one ... 2"
5 Dec 2007:-) Stephanie S. K. Marbach
Oh my - this is brilliant!!! It really looks as if he's really pushing that sun down, and he looks evil... He wants darkness to fall over the land... It's a great idea, and you've created a perfect picture for it2!!!

3 Esther S. Brendel (Maiden name: Esther S. Wetzel) replies: "Thank you, Stephanie! I like this old piece very much, myself. 2"
