my favourite book "the stone and the flute" by hans bemmann bears loads of really nice small stories among the main one. one of my favourite stories packed in the book is the one of the green man's lake. the residents of the fishing village next to the lake used to sacrify a young girl every year to the green man of the lake, to keep him happy and to let him bring enough fishes around for fishing. one day a fisherman finds a green lady and marries her. at the birth of her daughter the woman dies, so the daughter, aglaia, is everything the man has for himself to remember his great love to her mother agla. but the years pass by and aglaia grows up to an age where she will be amongst the chosen ones to be sacrified to the green man. and one year it fell upon her to be given to the green man. so, after that decision, she retires to prepare herself for her faith...

Awww.... nice story. And a good picture, too! I especially love the background - tell me that isn't your back yard: I'll die of jealousy if it is! Stephanie S. K. Marbach replies: "thanks for the nice comment megan! naaah, too bad it really isn't...... (i'd looooove it though if it was... !!!) it's actually the center square of my favourite castle! i just love it there..."
I love that book too! Never met anyone else who read it though ^^ Anyway, the photograph is beautiful. Very peaceful and calm and I love the costume! Stephanie S. K. Marbach replies: "wuow, really? aaah over here it is really spreading around my friends... i gave it to sooo many people already, and it was the same with the friend that gave it to me! but you're right - the book itself is actually quite unknown... the costume was lent by the museum of the castle for a workshop we were doing! thanks for your nice comment!"
The evil streak within me sees the pond and a single word echoes deep within the recesses of my hollow mind... The word is... "Push" Stephanie S. K. Marbach replies: "*ROFL* oh myyyyyy, you made me laugh sooo badly...!!! aaahhh... i just imagined her (well, actually it's me... *lol*) falling in there with her legs in the air (like the stepsister in "ever after") and one can see the medieval whool tights and leather boots (even though i wasn't wearing any of it... *g*)... aaahhhh, you maliscious lil' boy... ;-) good one!"
I have also read 'Stone and flute" and I loved it!! My mother gave it to me and it really influenced me in some way... Are you doing medieval workshops like this often? I'm in a reenactment group myself, I often go to medieval and antique markets and I could never imagine to miss it again... Stephanie S. K. Marbach replies: "yeah, it influenced me a lot, too... i still get a shiver only thinking of "suche den schimmer, suche den glanz..."! i even bought the MC's of the first book to listen to;-) *sigh*.yeah i do often go to such medieval workshops, specially to dancing ones, that is soo... much fun! i have also been visiting all medieval markets i could and am planning to attend some in south germany or france too this year, since there are not many of those in switzerland... that group of yours must be so much fun! yeah i couldn't imagine living without it, either..."

I have to admit i hated that book - too many moral lessons on almost every page for my taste. But the way you use photography is really stunnning! I love the composition, one could look at the picture for a long time and just dream up a story about it ... Stephanie S. K. Marbach replies: "haha, how funny! you're the first one i ever met that hates the book *g* ! i'm glad you like the picture though;-) thanks for your nice comment!!!"

This is gorgeous - the pose, the composition, and the gentle, muted colours. Your photographs are lovely. Stephanie S. K. Marbach replies: "thank you norma for your kind words... all this encouragement about my photographs made me push myself for an exhibition of only fantasy photographs... now i’ll have to stick with it and dare!! thanks again!!!"
