SciFi and Fantasy Art: Correspondences

it's an elf girl falling into nothing, an endless hole below her. listening to the tea partie's 'correspondences' , mostly inspired by the lyrics"...yes it's tearing you apart, my love..." of the song.

ballpoint pen on office paper. (2003)

Oh, wow! I think this is my favourite from your gallery. She looks so graceful- peaceful yet sad. I don't want to be pessimistic, but I gotta ask: Is she jumping off something to do suicide, coz the words just make me feel like she's completely despaired at the loss of her love...
I'll stop now.

2 Stephanie S. K. Marbach replies: "wow, really2?! thanks for your lovely comment girl2!!! and no, she is not making suicide here. the lyrics of the song say "it's tearing you apart, my love". whatever that "it" may be, it is something that causes much pain and that always feels like falling off from something, like one does not have any ground underneath the feet anymore... so i just tried to capture her as that particular feeling2! and she can't die if she falls into "nothing", can she;-)?"

It's beautiful! you can't tell either she's sad or happy, she looks in some kind of trance. Great drawing!

2 Stephanie S. K. Marbach replies: "wow, thanks shina for your nice comment2!"

This is a lovely drawing! Probably your best one. The expression on her face is perfect and clothing is wonderfull.Congrates! Keep up good work....

:-) Stephanie S. K. Marbach replies: "wuoh... my best one? wow... that’s nice to read! she’s really special to me, but i’ve never put her that high up in the scale... but you made me think about her a bit more, and about my other work8... thanks for your lovely comment, claire2!"

Just checking in on someone who made nice comments. This may be your best drawing. I remember thinking you draw too fast. The hands and flow of the clothes here are lovely. Take one of your lovely photos of someone in this pose. Slow down and draw. There’s talent there you haven’t found. Enough of that. It’s a lovely drawing as it is. Skip
