'...remember me, but oh, forget my fate...' - these are the last words of the queen dido, before she takes her life because of a broken heart... purcell made a fantastic baroque musical of the greek myth 'dido & aeneas', we sang it ourselves in our choir and i also saw the play last day again, and what i saw just really inspired me to draw dido with her lost look on her face, realizing her faith...
she's got plenty of mistakes, her arms, her hands... but oh well... i somehow still like her. i have the same dress as her, but of course i couldn't put her a black dress;-)... if you ever get the chance to see or hear the play - go for it...!!! it's my favourite... just wonderful...
She looks so sad...*sigh* Stephanie S. K. Marbach replies: "...ok... good, nice to hear that! cuz' that's the way she's supposed to look! thanks girl!!!"
My only complaint would be in the shading of the forest. A little darker would be nice. But then my screen is a little strange... Stephanie S. K. Marbach replies: "no, you're right, i was just thinking the same thing yesterday when i saw a beautifully shaded picture on elfwood: i should dare to shade darker!!! that's my problem, i don't dare pressing harder, so i get very lightly shaded pictures with pencils, even with colours... i have a lot to learn... thanks for your comment!"
