SciFi and Fantasy Art: Caught by the evil woods

this was just some odd imagination of a fairy that got into some evil woods and got into a trap, like, these ivy-kinda plants came up from the ground and wrapped all around her or something...

watercolour & coloured pencil. (2002)

*** exhibition at 'jugendart' in olten, may 2003

lol... typo demon caught you. THat's TRAP, dearie. a TRAMP is a different beastie altogether!

Lovely. would not mind untangling her myself. she's a little undefined around the limbs though, and the vines look a wee flimsy for the panic she's in, but otherwise well done. I really love the forest behind her.

:-) Stephanie S. K. Marbach replies: "  thanks for the hint girl2!... you know, english is not my fist language, and "trampa" in spanish means "trap", so there you go... hehe."

It's wait-a-while vine, I know it. Same thing happened to me. Like the trees, very soft and eerie.

11 Stephanie S. K. Marbach replies: "aaahw, they're sooo tricky, aren't they...;-)? thanks for your comment2!"

This is so pretty. I love the colours especially because most faeries people draw are greens or rainbow but I love these blues and purples. The concept is cool too!

2 Stephanie S. K. Marbach replies: "wow... now that you say it, you're right! to me faeries were mostly blueish, pinkish or such, and always with pastel colours. green is to me the colour of the gnomes2! thanks for that observation, and for your lovely comment2!"

Poor fairy... she looks so out-of-place with her bright and vibrant colors, in contrast with the dull browns and greys of the forest, like someone innocent being thrown into a world of evil. Good lighting, and I love the coloring in this one!

2 Stephanie S. K. Marbach replies: "wow, thank you for your nice comment2!!!"

I like the trees. They are very mysterious. I think her fore arm is a bit thin, but other then that she is really realistic. I like the whole mysterious feel of the piece.

2 Stephanie S. K. Marbach replies: "wow, thank you for your nice comment2! yeah, i have quite some difficulties with forearms, they always turn out way too thin... i'm practising though;-) thanks again2! "
