SciFi and Fantasy Art: Faerie queen

this faerie was very much inspired by the geneva show of "riverdance", starring joanne doyle, with her beautiful dress. i have been working on this fae for quite a while, always putting her away again and adding other little things to her. now finally i think i am quite done with her. i couldn't think of any other name but "faerie queen", since she seemed so majestic to me and with her lil' crown... well yeah:) i am quite fond of her i must say, i somehow really like her expression.

coloured pencils, watercolours, glitter and various pens. (2006)

She is really pretty, love the dress and the wings. The arm looks very skinny and shapeless though and the hand is far too small, hands are actually quite large but I used to do that too.

This is beautiful! The shading on her skin is great, and I love the design of her gown, with all its wonderful details, and the way her wings look so delicate and sparkly!

:-) Stephanie S. K. Marbach replies: "thank you so much for your kind words about her - it flatters me to see how you describe her... she’s very special to me, i like her a whole lot, even though she’s not perfect, so thanks so much for your lovely comment2!!!"
