SciFi and Fantasy Art: Weeping gargoyle

small baby gargoyle is weeping on a flower... she listens, and takes care of him... :)

the picture ended up having a huuuuuuuuge smirl right in the middle since i (as always, haha...) used the absolutely wrong paper for watercolours but i'm lucky it doesn't really show on the scan;-). i'm always about to take it down from the gallery, but somehow i just can't since it's one of a good friend's favourite:).

watercolour and coloured pencils on office paper. (2002)

I like this picture, the use of the grey in contrast to the bright color of the flower. I also liked the form of the gargoyle sitting upon the leaf and use of shade, it sort of added to the effect. I myself started drawing pictures of faeries, for the most part, but will also draw elves, pegasus, and other forms of enchanted creatures. There not the best, but I thought that I might try to put them on the internet for others to comment on. Various insight helps to enlighten ones degree of artistic talent. However, I am completely illiterate to the ways of computers, I simply know how to look things up, but have no idea how to get my pictures onto the internet. If anyone would be kind enough to explain to me, send me an e-mail please and thank you.

:-) Stephanie S. K. Marbach replies: "thanks for the comment girl2! you should go and try to get into elfwood - everything is well explained, step by step, how to put on your pics n stuff... i'm sure you'll be allright with it! tell me when you do, k2?"

Awww....I love the soft greys you've used for the gargoyle. having the flower there shows just how small he is, which makes him seem even cuter. ^^ I think the petal he's sitting on looks a little awkward, being longer than any of the other petals--perhaps lengthening the other petals to match would make it look a bit more balanced. I keep especting the poor baby gargoyle to slide off the left side of the picture because the flower has no counter-weight on the right side! ^^;

Please don't take offense at these comments--I'm just trying to give a helpful constructive critique, and besides the flower's leftmost petal being noticably longer than the rest I like it very much!
