SciFi and Fantasy Art: Springqueen and forg

i had this picture in my head of a faerie spring queen with lots of colourful flowers in her head and i started drawing her. i then realized that i had to be unconsciously inspired by one of my favourite elfwood artists A. Kajsa Flinkfeldt (who is also part of one of my guided tours). the woman on her "autumn" picture has similar huge hair going up like this faerie queen. it was quite funny when i realized it - how pictures can get stuck inside you sometimes and make you do similar things:)!

so i had my character set up and i knew she had to be looking at some small thing, but i couldn't quite figure out what exactly. i then suddenly had this idea with my other character, the heelige forg:)! i decided to draw a baby forg who had never seen a faerie this close before, so he is very shy and afraid of her because he still can't really figure out whether she is nice or evil *g*. i ended up loving him:)!!! it was also the first time i drew one of my existing characters again, and i'm planning some more pictures like that.

the scan turned out really badly :(, the picture does look much better in real life!!! also, it was too big to get it all scanned so a small part of the forg's tail and her wings are missing:( hm... but i'm still quite happy with it:)!

watercolours, coloured pencils and whiteout. (2005)

Yes! Finally a first comment!
Well, you've done it again. I do like the expression of the frog-thing's face, it's adorable. The woman's face seems slightly amused as well. Wow. And her hair! How long did it take you to make that amazing hair?
