before starting my teaching school i did a supplementary art course, just to get back into it and to learn more. the day we worked with clay the teacher told us to do a head, so i couldn't think of anything else than a gnome:). i love that little guy:) he's got an armchain that my friend gave me one day around his neck as a necklace. it suits him:).
ooh, It's very, very cute!! Do you have more pics likethis one? I love it! Stephanie S. K. Marbach replies: "no, unfortunately i don't... but i'm planning on working with FIMO soon...! thanks for your nice comment!!! nice to see spanish people around here!"
oh, thanks for your promt reply! i have some questions about it: Is it fimo? I only have worked a little with "normal" clay (plastilina) and I don't know the technique or the tools -___- Stephanie S. K. Marbach replies: "oh, no worries! no, it's not fimo - i would be ruined if it was *g*. it's made out of this earth clay, the brown one you then put into a special oven to burn it so it will become hard (like ceramics or such kinds). i then painted it with special clay - colours. i just used my hands for it and some kind of tool to make the eyes and the nose n stuff, and of course to make a hole underneith of it or it will burst because of the heat. hope i could help you with that!"
That's really cute. I've never really done anything whimsicle like that, but now I'm going to have to try. Stephanie S. K. Marbach replies: "yeahhh, try it out girl!!! and let me know whenever you post it in your gallery, ok?"
Gnomes! I bet that gnome could beat the garden gnomes any day! Good work again. I can hardly wait to see more. Stephanie S. K. Marbach replies: "*LOL* oh wow, what a comment... thanks sooo much for it!!! yeah this one and his fellows would be a nice change alltough i don't think "regular" people would ever appreciate any fantasy kind of weirdo thing...;-) thanks again!!!"
Waaaah! Can I have one?! XD he's so cute! deh little nomeh *pet* Anyways, love how you did this little figurine, looks like he just walked out of a fairytale ^_^ Stephanie S. K. Marbach replies: "hehe, yeah isn't he cute?! hehe, you're the one that phreaked out most about him;-) maybe he'll become alive and walk to your front door... thanks for your lovely comment!!!"
Now THAT is cute, you definitely need to be doing more sculpture! It would be really cute to hang this on your wall...you know how some people have moose and deer heads on their walls, you could have a gnome head ;o) I love it! I think you could sell these at craft fairs and fantasy conventions if you felt so inclined ) Stephanie S. K. Marbach replies: "...hanging a gonmes head from a wall like a moose?! *ROFL* what an idea!!! it would feel to awkward though since it would seem like "oh i killed this gnome, watch it...", you know;-)?! yeah appearantly people like him...! but we don't have fantasy craft fairs over here. thanks for your lovely comment girl!!!"
