SciFi and Fantasy Art: Blind

Sage again, though this time she is a lot older. This is life from her point of view - a mix of heat - sensor and echo location... or close to that. She can hear you...

yeah she's kind of not proportionate...

by the way, she is a unicorn but was born blind and without an alicorn because humans were polluting everything...

Maybe you could try redrawing it at some point. Then trace and clean it up so the lines are sharper. But I guess it depends on how it's scanned or photographed. I do it all the time with my spaceships. Sketch it, draw it, clean it up, refine it. I trace the final design on a light table then tighten up and ink the lines. Another ship flies off into space. :cD

WOW... o.O The shading makes it look so real! And I think the proportions are good too! Beautiful picture - and such a sad background story! The ripples in the water are beautiful too, and the contrast of the light unicorn with the dark background.

:-) J. Thomason replies: "I wanted to draw a "darker" picture. Thanks for commenting!"

wow!!
even if you hadnt said she was blind i think most people would have noticed anyway!!THat is how good it is!!

:-) J. Thomason replies: "thank you! That is really nice to say! I have thought of an exception to what you said, though. A blind person wouldn't be able to tell! lol i am SOO random... past my bedtime..."

I love her dark yet blind eyes

:-) J. Thomason replies: "Thank you! I thought they looked a little dull but blind enough."

The shading is beautiful. I really love how you have kept it rougher in some areas.

:-) J. Thomason replies: "Thank you! Gladja like it!!!"

Beatuiful shading, you sure know your horses! I think the water could be perfected even further though. Keep up the great work!

Would you be willing to give me some tips on how to draw the eyes. I can draw the basic shape, but can’t seem to get the shading correct. Thank you!!!
