Je voulais parler francais mais apparement je n'ai pas le droit de le faire! (I live in Quebec so I am supposed to know French... I would write in French but..) Because I wanted to say "J'adore, j'adore les couleurs et la merveilleuse facon dont elles se melanges et creent la jolie atmosphere tellement douce et feerique!" But I guess I'll have to settle for "I love the colours and the way they blend to creat this wonderful gentle and fairylike atmosphere!" (Moins romantique, non? English is not as expressive!) Anne Wipf replies: "Merci, Mona, pour ton adorable commentaire en Français. Ce serait plus simple pour moi de te répondre dans ma langue maternelle, mais... For this technic (on tiles, with a thermo-hardering water based painting which has the consistance of nail varnish), I used a shit of absorbing paper and taped it on the fresh painting : I found that this way of painting gave a best blending of the colours. Thank you again for your adorable comment."
I put this image on my blog (with credit and a link). Please let me know if this is a problem... I will take it down. Thanks, Elsa http://www.elsaelsa.com/archives/2007/04/08/the-soldier-and-p-42-who-is-tricking-who-neptune-on-the-midheaven-they-see-you-but-they-dont/ Anne Wipf replies: "Thank you for your request, Elsa. No there is no problem to use my picture like you did (with request and link), as much as it is not for a commercial use. And thank you for your interest to my art."
Wow, this is simply amazing! Just seeing it and how well you've painted it makes me think of how cool it would be to have a bathroom tiled with paintings like this from various children stories. You know, I see alot of money in the idea. Anne Wipf replies: "I thought in a first time to do such tiles. But it is impossible to use this technic for selling tiles destinated to bathrooms: the painting don't resist to the cement used for the joints. So, I learnt the real technics of ceramics; alas it needs a heavy and expensive kiln, not easy to amortize... Thank you for your kind comment."
Wonderful! This just has a perfect storybook feel to it. I really like this one. =D Anne Wipf replies: "Thank you so much. It is only an old picture, done on tiles (which was a performance, due to the medium I used), with nothing new except a play with green and red colours... I'm so pleased you like it!"
This is such a magical picture, and the background is glorious. I agree with a previous observer that the style is impressionistic and beautifully so. Anne Wipf replies: "Thank you, Norma. "
Beautiful result ! I really love the colors, especially for the forest in the background ! Anne Wipf replies: "Thank you This technic is not easy to master, in a first time, but gives nice results."

Lil’ Red of the Hood
Loading...
That’s beautiful! I don’t really like the story of Little Red Riding Hood, though. I think it portrays wolves in a bad way, just like the Three Little Pigs.
I hope you don’t get offended, but I don’t really know how to pronounce your last name, so whenever I see it, I just say "Anne Wolf."
Ps. I’m actually Aimee who commented on your Tom Thumb and Thumbelina pics. Anne Wipf replies: "Thank you so much, Aimee. You may pronounce my surname as if you were German: the "W" like a "V", the "I" like a "E" (as in "pig", for example), and the "P" and "F" together, "PF" (I know: it is not easy without sputters )"
