An other experiment on Himalayen paper, done with pastels and retouched on Photoshop. Very fun to do. Inspired, of course, by the young children's cube games.
hahaha, this made me laugh out loud! The weird castle, the expression on the bird, it's priceless. I really like the way you balanced your colors in this, it creates a really peacefull picture, even with the dynamic subjectmatter. Anne Wipf replies: "Sorry for the late answer: some problems of connexion alas. I'm surprised (and glad) by the success of this crazy artwork. Thank you."
I love this, I can really put my finger on why, it's just very special. I do like the way you have used different stiles in one picture, it's hard to pull that off successfully and you defiantly did it.
Some of your work reminds me of the artist Paul Klee, but you totally hold your own and in my opinion your work is some of the most unique on this site. Keep it up! Anne Wipf replies: "Thank you, Pernille (I love this name). That's a lovely comment and I'm really happy to see that so many people like this picture. It was really fun to do and I currently try to write and illustrate a story inspired by it, a crazy story of course!"
LOL wonderful madness! (In a nice way of course) From the plane buzzing around I can only assume that this is a very high up part of the tower. Anne Wipf replies: "Yes, it is. It is the reason why I put clouds, too: the crazy castle climbs up to the sky!Thank you for your kind comment."
Oh,that's so fun!I love the BIRD!It's got such a crazy expression! This is new-ish,right?The stars from the window are making me imagine weird experiments taking place inside! The paper is called 'Himalayan paper'?Is it crinkled paper?I like the effect of the sky and the building-block towers.I forgot the washing-line!It's such a nice quaint touch. Anne Wipf replies: "Yes, it is not a very old painting. The paper is not crinkled: it is craftsmen made, by himalayen people. It is hard to paint on it, because it has a very slack and absorbing texture (I don't think I'll continue to draw on it when I'll finish my stock...) Thank you for your lovely comments."
Very cool, Anne! I like your experimentation with different papers and mediums. This paper looks beautiful, and you've created an excellent picture on it. Anne Wipf replies: "Thank you, Sara. This paper is beautiful but it is very difficult to paint on it. The picture gave me an idea for a children book I'm currently working on (but on another kind of paper!)"
It's so whimsical and fun, it reminds me of the Burrow from Harry Potter. Anne Wipf replies: "Yes, I didn't thought about it, but you are right! It was very fun to do. And it gave me an idea for a story I'm currently working on (and illustrating). Thank you for your kind comment."
I love the colours and the simplicity of the forms! it is wonderfully creative. Anne Wipf replies: "Thank you for your lovely comment It was very fun to do and inspiring for a children book I’m currently working on. "
Beautidl Anne and the paper was exactly the right choice for it Anne Wipf replies: "Thank you (sorry for the late answer, I had some problems with my connexion) "
this is great, its like blocks. it kinda in a way reminds me of mirrormask. its definately your own though, i love it, so whimsical! Anne Wipf replies: "Thank you for your lovely comment. I’m pleased you like it "
