SciFi and Fantasy Art: Fireflies – Light holders

On a hot sommer night, in the South of France, perhaps would you see strange little creatures... Inspired from the view I have from my windows every night.

All the flowers are painted and not stuck : it took me about 40 hours to finish this painting. Acrylics on canvas, but the fireflies were added in Photoshop.

omg this is awsome!!! howd u come up with this idia? its so unique

:-) Anne Wipf replies: "Oh, it is a long story. The first time I tried to do a landscape with flower, it was for a painting competition with the theme "flowers". Then, I did some picture with the same style, and I uploaded this one, thinking that a castle made with flowers was enough to be considered as a fantasy genre... but it was not. So, I added the fairy-fireflies, quickly, and then it was accepted 12 Thank you for your lovely comment. 1"

I thought this was water color? But I don’t know how you made this look so wonderful with acrylics! I don’t know but you are a wonderful artist and your art is nothing like anything I have seen before!

:-) Anne Wipf replies: "Wow. It was not very hard to do, technically. But it took a long long time to do 2 Thank you for your lovely comment. 1"

What a cool way to paint the buildings and background! This might be your strongest piece.

:-) Anne Wipf replies: "Thank you. It is my favourite, for my part, too. 1"

Wow, this is really unique and colourful, Anne. The flowers are painted beautifully. They look very realistic which contrasts with the more simplistic castle and figures in a really interesting way.

:-) Anne Wipf replies: "Thank you, Donna. This style of painting is quite old, done when I was inemployed: I don’t have time enough now to do such paintings. 8"

You’re art is really sweet and fresh. But this drawing I like the most of its colors. It feels like a really modern art piece that you can hang on the wall. Love it all the way. Thanks for sharing this with us. Have a nice day.

:-) Anne Wipf replies: "Thank you for these kind words 1"
