SciFi and Fantasy Art: Little Pied Piper

Since I've heard it, in my childhood, I always was fascinated by the story of the Pied Piper of Hamelin. But it's an horrible story, don't you think so ? It's why I imagined this "Little Pied Piper" : isn't it cuter ?

For the style of this picture, I was inspired by the mediaeval illuminations, with the exception that I used watercolours instead of tempera, and watersoluble golden specks instead of gold sheets. The Napoleonic soldier is, of course, a Sci-Fi soldier (I love to play with anachronisms)!

The colours are lovely and bright and the sky is very interesting. I do think that the little piper's big wide eyes are a bit scary though. Anne Wipf replies: "Hehe! Hmmm... in fact I didn't thougnt he was so creepy, but perhaps all clear blue eyes are creepy (do you have black eyes ?
