SciFi and Fantasy Art: Little Red Mermaid and the Big Bad Sharp

... in the Big Giant Kelp Forrest ...

Another picture to complete my collection of Little Red Riding Hoods for Amrita who wanted a mermaid. If her tail looks a bit fat, it's because I wanted to paint a goldfish tail (I love to draw the Little Red because I love to play with the contrast between the green woods and the red dress/tail !)

A simple watercolours painting (but, in my opinion, my best one).

I really like the expressions! As well as the idea of Little Red Riding Hood as mermaid!
And the contrast between red and green is really nice;-)

He-he, you love this theme, don't you? 2 It's a very nice watercolor, and I like the shark a lot, he looks rather cute 2)))
Lovely colors, as always!

43 Anne Wipf replies: "Thank you, Anya. Yes, I love this theme, I always loved it, and It's probably not the last picture I'll do in this theme ! And I'm proud of this watercolour, I think that it is very successful, they are not always so good : it's certainly one of my favourite pictures."

That's a good twist on the fairy tale.

2 Anne Wipf replies: "I'm not the first one to play with the story of "the Little Red Riding Hood" (cf. Tex Avery : I love what he did with it). But I'm very proud of this pict and of all the comments I received about it. Thank you."

I love this painting. Maybe because I love chubby little mermaids 2 I like your take on fairy tales, very original and your paintings are so full of colour!

2 Anne Wipf replies: "I love this painting too, I think it is the most successfull of all my watercolours paintings, at this time : watercolours are such capricious paintings, and this one is technically perfect, in my opinion. Thank you for your lovely comment."

ilove mermaids but i think the mermaid is a bit fat
| i love MERMADS and u

:-) Anne Wipf replies: "Sorry for the bugs. I don’t know what it happens and why all your lovely comments were deleted when I tried to answer to them. It seems to be fixed now. So, you found my little red mermaid a bit fat. As I wrote in my comment, the tails looks a bit fat because I wanted to draw a goldfish tail. For the body in itself, I don’t think it is fat: it is the body of a little girl. Thank you for your lovely comments."
