SciFi and Fantasy Art: October Sorrow"Good bye, sweet dear, see you next year..."
October is such a sad month. When our sweet swallows fly away, nuts are got in, the first logs burn in the fire-places, and winter will soon be here with the first frostes... It is time to invite friends and neighbours for a chestnuts party!
This picture was done with watercolours. It was alas a bit too large for the scanner (and cropped). I hope you'll like it, nevertheless. | |

I like how it's divided up into the three panels instead of just a basic picture. Anne Wipf replies: "The 3 panels are the solution I found for showing 2 contradictory views: a near one, for showing the sorrow of my fairy, and an extensive one, for showing the meeting of the swallows before their leave. Anne Wipf replies: "Oooo: I absolutely didn’t think to Thumbelina, when I did this painting oo I was sad because of the departure of the swallows and thought to the fairy I am (hehe), that is why I drew wings to my fairy. But you are right: it could be Thumbelina and the Swallow. " | |
