SciFi and Fantasy Art: Beyond the Hand

Now, this one has an interesting story. Basically, I was drawing a hand and let my imagination get away with me. I've had quite a few people tell me that I'm disturbed after viewing this. About the title: If the hand is so horrific, what could possibly be worse to take the girl's attention off of it?
