SciFi and Fantasy Art: Nature

The fairy is shocked by the cruelty of nature.
Done with acrylics, the fairy is added digitally. You can see the original painting here.

by far the best feathers I've seen on elfwood. Wow coming from you I really feel honoured! The faery looks out of place, but I'm glad you put it there, otherwise I wouldn't have seen this picture 10That's right and that's why the digital fairy flew into this acrylic painting. 2 Thanks for stopping by Anton.

Great job on the texture on the fox, gives it a very fur-like look! ANd also love the simplicity of the title, with that one word everything is perfectly described! Nice! Thanks Jessica, I'm glad you like it.

Oooh, poor foxey... *sniff* Great painting and very expressive pose of the faery, reflects her shock and grief very well. Thank you! 2However, I think the textures on the faery look too different form those on the animals and perhaps you might make those on the faery more detailed or less smooth. Also, the addition of the fae on the right makes the pic look a bit unbalanced, so I'd suggest cropping the picture a bit on the left perhaps, cutting off a bit of background... I'm not sure about it, though.I agree with you that the digital fairy looks very different from the painting. But as I noticed it myself I thought, why not show the BIG difference between the Fantasy and the Real world and I didn't change anything anymore.

So beautiful, but so sad. I've never got the hang of acrylics so I just stick to pencils(because those I can erase if something turnes out wrong *smile*)
Poor little fairy, but really shouldn't she know about the happenings in nature since she is a big part of it?
Anyway I really love it.Thanks Johanna. Yes the fairy is very much part of nature, but still like we humans do, she is shocked by the cruelty of it. I think fairies are non-violent creatures, so they have difficulties seeing it. 1

Anneke, this is rendered very well, and has a good sense of drama to boot. I hope you are working on new paintings for us to view....

I must be like a fairy, or fairies are like humans, because lots of us look at the world everyday and wonder how so much cruelty and horrible things can pass... without the many humans who don't believe in violence stepping in.

The poor fairy... it reminds me of the little one sitting beside the vase that I already commented on ^.^

I think it would be better without the fairy. But then I wouldnt have seen it here on Elfwood. It is a lovely painting.

It looks very realisctic! I like how you did the feathers and the fox fur. I think i like it better without faery, but then you couldn't have posted it her, haha.

Voor een Elf denkt ze wel erg "menselijk", hm?
Hoe moet de roofvogel dan eten?
En wie ruimt dan de zwakkeren op in de Natuur?
