SciFi and Fantasy Art: Headless Mule

Strange, isn't it? There is a legend all around the country about the headless mule, an evil and cruel monster who in the past was a woman who made something evil, just like to kill her husband to live with a priest, or killed her own children(the legend changes acording the place). The monster is described in many ways, but this is the more commom: a horse body with flames in the head place. It's an maldict and bizzarre creature, what tooks disgrace to one who see its.

Hey how i stumbled upon this site was coz of my great intersets of all kinds of mythologies and that I just love coming up with my own dark and creepy creatures.... but however I think that the headless mule was pretty original....is it really a true legend?I mean its not just something yoa came up with it is really a little story who people really believs on?
