SciFi and Fantasy Art: A mountain trail

Well, someone commented that this looked a bit gothic. I don't know how well that came out in the scan, but hey. Where does the trail lead? Who knows? The mountain, or the abyss around it?

i think mountains are more comfortable covered with trees then having someone's face carved in them but i love the idea of the trail...

I would love to take a walk there, of course it's got it's mysterious points, probably a secret portal leading into my abyss, but of course we can never know too much, it's simple and quaint, let it leads to such brilliant ideas... I am truly awe strucken by your work
