Well, I wouldn't think something like this would be in the mods choice. I guess it's a bit nice seeing some sci-fi for once, but... Sam ´AcidK´ Read replies: "As I have said in a comment before, I did not actually intend this artwork to be a Mod Choice, I left that for other pictures. However, I like people to comment constructively on it. Yes, it is two spheres, a few cylanders, a smaller sphere, and cone and a backgrounds... but things like these actually take time in developing."

| 6 Aug 2004 | Mako Yami | Loading...hey, I like this a lot. I think it does deserve Mod's Choice! There aren't too many artists here who can make cool stuff like this in Bryce 5. It's nice to see someone else who uses Bryce 5. Check my gallery in a week or 2, and I'll have some Bryce 5 stuff up ^.^ I've recently become addicted to that program. Congrats on Mod's Choice, this does deserve it Sam ´AcidK´ Read replies: "Making simple images on bryce is easy, making something stand out on bryce and actually make it look something decent is not. It took me a while to get used to metaballs and negative metaballs...." | |

Sam ´AcidK´ Read replies: "Set Sky and Fog to 'starfeild', create a massive object and make the texture into something that catches the eye (usually I use nebuli, but I thought I might as well do something different for a change)."

I do agree that in general the moderators don't seem to be picking the right pictures for moderator's choice. P.S. it's hangar, not hanger. Planes or spaceships would dock in a hangar, clothes would go on a hangar. Great picture. I'll check out your other pictures that you say deserved mod's choicce much more. Sam ´AcidK´ Read replies: "Okay, okay, my spelling is kinda lazy at times. Thanks for the comments anyhoo"
| 7 Aug 2004 | Mariko Jade Dow | Loading...To be honest, it's not my favorite... But you shouldnt down on it because you don't think it's Mod's Choice material. They pick them when they see something they like.. doesnt have to be a great piece of artwork, just has to catch their eye. And it looks like you did that. Congrats. Sam ´AcidK´ Read replies: "Thanks for backing me up and thanks for the congrats" | |
| 12 Aug 2004 | ... | Loading...--; I didn't mean the picture, I meant I don't think I like Bryce. I want to know what it is though, before I decide if I really don't like it or not, though from what I've heard and seen, I'm probably not going to like it... The picture is fine, btw, though like you I don't think it should have gotten Mod's choice.. ~The ... girl (I am The dotdotdot girl.) Sam ´AcidK´ Read replies: "Bryce is a 3D rendering program, mainly for terrain editing and sucklike. I'm learning other 3D renderers such as 3D Studio Max and Maya, but atm I'm not learnt enough to get them to look as good as what I can do in Bryce." | |
| 11 Jan 2005 | Sarah Miller | Loading...Why in Hell don't you like this?! I think this is great. The only thing I have against it is the fact that around the edges of the... um... Landing Port/Hangar it seems a little thin, as though it were made to be the blade of a knife or from a piece of paper. That's all I can see that's wrong with it. I like the background too, but I think it's a little busy. Other than that, I think people should get glasses, 'cause I like it. Sam ´AcidK´ Read replies: "Thanks for the comments, sarah, the thinness was what was aimed for (at this point I cannot remember exactly why, though)" | |

The only gripe i have about 3d software is that it can make things look too computer generated if you see what i mean; using it for the ships alone it dosn’t look too bad, but not so much for backgrounds -planets etc. you can make quite realistic looking planets using 2d programs such as paintshop/photoshop, if you ever wanted to look into it. Sam ´AcidK´ Read replies: "Thank you for your reply and support on this image, seems theres a mixed veiw on it. I have tried to use 2D programs in the past to modify or create better backgrounds, however never made any decent ones."
